Last week the Millstadt Police Department Senior Citizen Academy concluded. For six weeks, 25 participants met on Monday evenings to learn important and interesting information from presenters of various agencies, as well as our own. Among some of the topics presented were: Night time patrol operations, Smithton Police K9 demonstration, the Millstadt UFO incident, Millstadt EMS, Adult Protective Services, the 911 system, safe banking procedures, firearm safety, the Southwestern Illinois Police Academy, and more. Food was provided each night and coordinated by Senior Center Director Patty Evansco. Officer Kevin Witschie was the program coordinator, and did a great job!
