On March 2nd police began to investigate a theft case, at Casey’s General Store, on East Washington Street. It was discovered a former employee had committed the theft. On April 29th the suspect, Evan Fischer, 21 of Smithton, was charged with Theft.

4/15 – 8:30 p.m. – Robert T. Cook, 49 of St. Louis, Missouri, was arrested on misdemeanor warrants out of St. Clair County (Theft) and Washington County (Fraud). The incident occurred during a traffic stop in the 100 block of South Illinois Street.

4/29 – 4:25 p.m. – James J. Betts, 43 of Caseyville, was arrested on two outstanding felony arrest warrants (possession of methamphetamine & a probation violation) out of St. Clair County. He was a passenger in a vehicle that was stopped for improper lane usage, in the 300 block of South Illinois Street.
