6/14 – Police investigated an incident in which a subject damaged another individual’s vehicle, in the 300 block of North Jefferson Street. Upon investigating it was discovered the suspect and victim had been involved in a relationship. The victim had an Order of Protection against the suspect. It would also be learned the suspect had sent threatening messages electronically. The suspect also had outstanding misdemeanor warrants through the Millstadt Police Department & St. Clair County Sheriff’s Department. On 6/15 the suspect was located at a residence in Smithton and, with the assistance of the Smithton Police, was taken into custody. After further investigation the report was submitted to the St. Clair County State’s Attorney’s Office – Domestic Violence Unit. On 6/17 the suspect, Lance A. Ford, age 30 of Millstadt, was charged with the following:
Count 1: Criminal Damage to Property $500 – 10,000; A Class 4 Criminal Felony, Category B Offense. Count 2: Cyberstalking/Cause Person Fear; A Class 4 Criminal Felony, Category A Offense. Count 3: Violate Order of Protection; A Class A Misdemeanor, Category A Offense.
His bond was set at $30,000.
