Sandra M. Bereitschaft Foundation Purchases Van for Senior Center.

As a direct result of the generous grant from the Sandra M Bereitschaft Foundation, Millstadt Township Senior Services was able to replace their 2003 van with a 2011 Dodge Grand Caravan mini-van. The van will be used to deliver Meals on Wheels and help take clients to non-emergency medical appointments.   The Center also has a 2016 Ford Starcraft 12 passenger bus and 2016 Dodge Caravan wheelchair accessible van.   The Foundation purchased the van from Mertz Motors in Millstadt, Illinois and has 52,000 miles on it.  This was a great find and opportunity.  Millstadt Senior Center was pleasantly surprised when the Foundation suggested a new van.  The Senior Center wants to extend our deepest appreciation to the board members of the Sandra M. Bereitschaft Foundation for their generous grant along with our assurance that their investment will enable many Meals on Wheels volunteers to interact and network with our clients.  The network of support is really the strength of our Meals on Wheels program that covers Millstadt, Freeburg, Smithton and Paderborn.
