Many of us are fortunate to have a warm meal every night — whether around the campfire or at the kitchen table. We also know there are many in our area who need our help – this is how Scouting for Food originated in 1985.
Our annual food-collection drive is another reminder to our Millstadt community that Scouts are here to do a good turn and willing to help out our local community.
This year’s Scouting for Food will take place on two consecutive November weekends (the 9th and 16th). On the first weekend, Scouts distribute bags to let their neighbors know about the drive. On the second, Scouts revisit those houses to pick up bags full of canned food, cereal, pasta, peanut butter, juice, and other nonperishable items.
The food is delivered to the Millstadt Food Pantry for distribution for those in need.
Please take the time to remember the Scouting for Food drive when you receive your bag and please be generous with your food donations.
The service you provide will help out many during the holidays and let them know their community cares about them.
