Weather Safety Program

Date: Thursday, August 22nd

Time: 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Get in. Get down. Cover up. These are the safety tips for severe weather from the National Weather Service (NWS). A hail storm in the middle of the night on May 15th. A funnel cloud on June 12th. Both of these enough to give pause and yet there were no prior weather reports telling of just how dangerous these incidents could be. Luckily, the most we all had were insurance claims for new roofs and siding! Next time though, who knows.

Even though weather reporting has come a long way, let’s face it, weather will always be unpredictable to an extent. So, what do you do? To answer this question and many more, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and (NWS) meteorologist, Jared Maples, will be at the Millstadt Library on Thursday, August 22nd, from 5:00 p.m. to 7 p.m. Join us as we delve deeper into weather and the understanding needed to better prepare for Mother Nature!
