The Millstadt Police Department will be holding our Senior Citizen Police Academy this fall. The program, which is for those age 55 and older, will run six consecutive Monday evenings starting September 10th and concluding October 15th. The classes will be held from 6:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. at the Millstadt Community Center, 102 South Jefferson St. The program is free and a luncheon will be provided each night. The Senior Academy is an opportunity for the participants to learn from a wide range of topics, both law enforcement related and other general interests. In the past, our academy draws those who are still active in the work force, as well as those who are retired. We feel programs like this help form a bond between the police department and the members of our community. This academy is held once every other year and has filled up completely the last few times it has been held. Class size is limited to 40 people, and we urge those interested to register as soon as possible. Applications may be filled out at the Millstadt Police Department, Millstadt Village Hall or the Millstadt Community Center. Registration may also be made via telephone by calling the police department at 476-7250.
